Samaroo’s family gets ownership of gravesite

January 7 marked the first anniversary of the death of Trinidad and Tobago steelpan virtuoso and internationally renowned arranger Jit Samaroo.
Born in Surrey Village, Lopinot, he was buried in the Public Cemetery there. TPRC councillor for the La Florissante/Lopinot electoral district Crista Ariel Alexis officially handed over the ownership of Jit Samaroo’s entombed gravesite to his family in a simple ceremony hosted by his wife and family. Leader of council business at the TPRC Councillor Travis Williams brought greetings on behalf of the chairman and council.
