Coca-Cola partners with Pan Trinbago

Coca-Cola Trinidad and Tobago Limited will continue its business relationship with Pan Trinbago for Carnival 2018.

Keith Diaz, president of the steelband body, confirmed this to Pan Trinbago Media.

At a meeting with Camille Chatoor general manager of the beverage giant recently, he said, she pledged the company’s commitment to support culture, with a special emphasis on the national musical instrument of Trinidad and Tobago–the steelpan.

“She recognises what Pan Trinbago is doing for culture. But the company has reduced its contribution of 2,000 (T-shirts) to 1,000,” he said. The t-shirts are assigned as uniforms to unsponsored steelbands, unable to secure financial assistance from the corporate community during the Panorama competition.

As he spoke of corporate Trinidad and Tobago’s role in the steelband community, Diaz applauded the decision of Angostura to return to sponsoring a steelband.

He was referring to the company’s decision to sign as the title sponsor of reigning Single Pan Band champion Newtown Playboys Steel Symphony.

“It is a very refreshing development by the corporate sector,” said Diaz.
