PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD - MUSICAL SHOWDOWN IN DE BIG YARD

Nutrien Silver Stars Steel Orchestra was presented with the Unipet Elliot “Ellie” Mannette People’s Choice Award at a simple ceremony yesterday.

The specially commissioned trophy designed by Clifton Lawrence of Decorative Glass was presented to the winner in the Large Band category by Mr. Rupert Jones, Corporate Secretary, himself a pannist.

Marcus Ash, Silver Stars Drill Master collected on behalf of the band.  Their selections were “Love’s Theme” composed by Barry White, arranged by Edwin Pouchet and the Aaron St. Louis aka Voice “Out & Bad” arranged by Ojay Richards and Kersh Ramsey. 

The handing over ceremony took place at Pan Trinbago’s Head Office, Duke & Melbourne Streets, Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Results were tabulated from individual votes on fundme.com during the “Musical Showdown in De Big Yard” last Saturday.  Medium Band winner, NGC Couva Joylanders Steel Orchestra, collected their Award at the end of the concert.

Keith Simpson, Vice President and Denise L.J. Hernandez, Secretary chaired  the event.
