Pan For The People – the Concert Series

The first in the series “Pan For The People” takes place on Saturday May 25, 2019 at the Cushe Government Primary School, Biche.

The steelpan concert is organized by the Eastern Region of Pan Trinbago under the chairmanship of Anthony Walker and his Executive.

Five (5) steel orchestras from the region, Sangre Grande Cordettes, Curepe Scherzando, Arima Angel Harps and Moods, will entertain patrons. Host band, Augmented Groove, will also be in attendance. Show time is 4:00 pm. Admission is free. Refreshments will be on sale.

Biche is a scenic agricultural village in east Trinidad, 18 kilometers north of Rio Claro ans 18 kilometers south of Sangre Grande.

“Pan For The People” explained Walker “is the Region’s way of literally taking pan to the people. Participating bands promise to provide a wide range of selections catering to everyone’s taste.”

He went on to state next month and continuing throughout the year, other communities within the Eastern region will stage similar events. 

“Curepe Scherzando will be hosting the next (June) concert at their Curepe pan yard with Pamberi Steel Orchestra, Betaudier’s Steel Pan Academy, Northolus Steel Orchestra, Birdsong as well as host band Curepe Scherzando on the playbill. This event is Saturday June 22, 2019.

The Region is inviting not only persons living in the area but each everyone to bring their friends and family to this event as “you don’t want to miss this pan yard experience.”
