Pan Trinbago’s Statement on the Passing of Makandal Daaga

Pan Trinbago as well as the entire Pan community mourns the loss of a revolutionary leader who through great personal and family sacrifices transformed the social, cultural and political landscape of Trinidad and Tobago.

As the leader of the 1970 Black Power Revolution, the political leader of NJAC that formed part of the coalition Peoples Partnership Government, and the many cultural initiatives through N.W.A.C, N.A.C.C and the TCC demonstrates his and his organizations commitment to the holistic development of Trinidad and Tobago and by extension black people globally.

Your life truly exemplified the title you chose of Chief Servant and your service laid the foundation for the transformation of our society.

May the ancestors warmly embrace you and grant you eternal peace.

Makandal Daaga we Thank You.
