Large Bands Prelims Judging

Seventeen (17) bands have registered for their category in the National Panorama Large Bands category in 2018.

Judging for the bands will commence in the Eastern Region on Saturday January 21, 2018 with five (5) participants. Next to face the judges will be the sole Tobago band, RBC Redemption Sound Setters, on Sunday January 21st at 8:00 pm

Coming on their heels will be the seven (7) bands in the North on Monday January 22nd with South/Central’s four (4) bringing up the rear on Tuesday January 23.

From this exercise, fourteen (14) big guns will proceed to the National Panorama Medium & Large Semi Finals on Sunday January 28 at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain. Starting time is 1:00 pm

Tasked with the responsibility of judging the bands in this round are Corinne Soo Ping Chow, Damion Phillip, Roger Sardinah and Lennox London.

The order of appearance is as follows:

EAST LARGE BANDS – Saturday 20 January 2018 – 7:00 pm

TOBAGO LARGE BAND – Sunday 21 January, 2018 – 8:00 pm

SOUTH/CENTRAL LARGE BANDS – Tuesday 23 January, 2018 – 7:00pm

Last year’s winner, Massy Trinidad All Stars, located at Duke Street, Port of Spain, will be second band to be judged as the caravan wends its way through Port of Spain.

Over the past two (2) days, bands in the East and Tobago were judged. South/Central’s turn will be on Tuesday 23 January, 2018.

Come Monday 22 January, seven (7) bands in the northern region will play their Panorama selection before the four-man panel of roving judges.

The bands will be judged in the following order.

NORTH LARGE BANDS ORDER - PRELIMS

The fourteen (14) semi-finalists will be announced on Wednesday 24 January when the score sheets are opened at the Murchison Brown Auditorium, Port of Spain City Hall, Knox Street, Port of Spain.

They will be joined by their counterparts (14) for the Medium Band category in the National Panorama Semi Finals at the Big Yard, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, from 1:00 pm.
