Small Conventional Bands Finals

It was anything but in de minor for La Horquetta Pan Groove which made a major leap from Single Pan Band category to cop the Petrotrin National Panorama Small Band title last night at Skinner Park, San Fernando.

With a Kion Robinson arrangement of Winston Scarborough’s “In De Minor” the band vowed judges and patrons alike to score a total of 277 points, three more than its closest rivals, Laventille Serenaders and Arima Golden Symphony (tie). LH Pan Groove was among a line-up of fifteen (15) steel orchestras.

Our Boys placed highest among the Tobago bands. They came in fourth place tying with Fascinators Pan Symphony with 272 points.

After six hours of musical excitement, the judges, Frank Stanisclaus, Soluna Garnes, Joslynne Sealey, Maria Achaiba, Hetty Gannes and Vorbin Cordice, declared the Arima-based band victorious retaining its lead from the Semi Final stage.

Last night also saw the Junior Panorama 1st Runner-up St. Paul’s Anglican School Steel Orchestra opening the evening’s proceedings with a spirited performance of their Panorama tune, “Party Time Again.” One lucky patron, Tracy Husbands, won herself a return ticket for two to any Caribbean Airlines destination.

The placing are as follows:-
