Twenty Seven Bands to Perform At Pan in de Sancoche at the QPS on Saturday

After a hiatus of two years, the sounds of steel will resonate at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, Trinidad, on Saturday 19 February 2022 as twenty seven (27) steelbands perform in concert from 4:00 pm

Titled “Pan in de Sancoche”, the event promises a little bit of this and a little bit of that with Single Pan and Small Conventional Bands as the headline acts. Supporting performances include Traditional Mas characters and veteran calypsonians.

After three days of auditions, the selected bands, 15 Single Pan and 12 Small Conventional Bands, will each play a vintage calypso of not more than eight minutes duration.

Several additional cash incentives sponsored by corporate Trinidad & Tobago will be awarded based on performances.  These include Best Performing Band, People’s Choice, and the Best Flag Waver.

Patrons can also participate as there will be a prize for the best dressed male and female in retro outfits.

Tickets cost $150. Grand Stand seating only and are available at the NCC Ticket Booth, Queen’s Park Savannah, and NCC Head Office, Gray Street.

The venue is a safe zone opened to fully vaccinated patrons and artistes only. National Covid 19 protocols apply.
