Siparia Police Youth Club Visits Virginia

The Siparia Police Youth Club Steel Orchestra has been invited by West Indies United, a community based group, to tour Virginia, U.S.A. from August 14 to August 28, 2019.

While in Virginia, the young pannists led by Sgt Roger Worrell will have the opportunity to perform and represent the “red, white and black’ showcasing the country’s national music instrument, the steelpan.

Some of their scheduled performances include Caribfest pre-boat ride, 400th Commemoration at Fort Monroe, Norfolk Botanical Gardens and Montego Island Grill.

For the band, it will be their second foreign outing having visited Texas in 2017.

The band members are looking forward to this cultural experience.
