Codrington Family Fund-Raiser

A benefit concert will be held for the ailing Cary Codrington at the Teaching and Learning Complex, UWI, St. Augustine, today Saturday July 08.

The fund-raiser in collaboration with the Carter Foundation is titled “Impact” and will feature parang band Amantes de Parranda, local reggae fusion band Nex Chapta, spoken word artiste Omari Asson, Jerome Gonzales from Vizion the Band, dance group SOUL, vocalist Joseph Lopez and the Codrington Pan Family featuring Duvone Stewart.   Showtime is 7:00 pm.

Son Khari said his father was diagnosed with prostate cancer mid last year and since then, his condition is painful. In spite of this, he continues with his music.

In fact, Cary will be in the band’s line up on Saturday despite the pain.

The Carter Foundation is a non-profit organization launched last year to assist those involved in the arts in need of scholarships, grants and donations.

Cary Codrington is well known in the music arena spanning almost 45 years. It was in 199 he along with his wife Karen and his six (6) children founded The Pan Family.
