Ramsey Moore Team Sweeps Pan Trinbago Elections

Beverly Ramsey-Moore became the 17th President and the first female to hold this position in Pan Trinbago’s seventy two (72) year history.

The Black Rock, Tobago born manager of Petrotrin Katzenjammers Steel Orchestra emerged victorious following the triennial election of officers convened at the Mucurapo East Secondary School, St. James, on Sunday.

Mrs. Ramsey-Moore’s victory set the tone with her slate “Team Rebuild” elected to nine of the ten (10) position contested.

Seventy three (73) persons of which eight (8) vied for President offered themselves in one of the most anticipated elections in the annals of the steelpan organization.

Overseeing the election process were personnel from the Elections & Boundaries Commission.

The almost ten hour long exercise began at 10:00 am with the registration of delegates attracted a record turnout of bands/representatives.

The first set of results saw Mrs. Ramsey-Moore securing 117 votes with her closest rival, Team New Times Keron Valentine amassing 55 votes. Two independents, Robert Amar and Lawford Dupres were among the eight (8) Presidentals hopefuls.

The results are as follows:

President – Beverly Ramsey-Moore

Vice President – Carlan Harewood

Secretary – Denise Lucy Jeanne Hernandez

Asst. Secretary – Lauren Pierre

Education Officer- Marcus Ash

Public Relations Officer -  Sandra Awai

External Relations Officer –Dane Gulston

Treasurer -  Gerard Mendez

Trustees - Keith Simpson, Dawren Greenidge  

The elected officers will serve for a period of three (3) years.
