Pan Trinbago Launches the Magnificent Trinidad and Tobago National Steelband Music Festival - "Steelpan is More Beautiful 2024: Canopeum Amoris - A Canopy of Love"

On Friday 21st of June, 2024, Pan Trinbago under the esteemed patronage of Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago hosted the Launch of the Trinidad and Tobago National Steelband Music Festival 2024 - Steelpan is More Beautiful 2024 Canopeum Amoris - A Canopy of Love at the Festive Ballroom at Radisson Hotel.

Senator the Honourable Randall Mitchell, Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, Mr. Martel Waldron, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Ag.), Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, President Beverley Ramsey-Moore, Pan Trinbago, Mr. Winston Peters, Chairman of the National Carnival Commission (NCC), Mr. Ainsley King, President Trinbago Unified Calypso Organisation (TUCO) and Mrs. Carina Cockburn, Country Representative for the IDB, among others, were in attendance.

The launch signified the grand return of the upcoming classical Steelband music festival set to take place from the 12 July to the 24th August, 2024 after an 11-year hiatus.

During President Beverley Ramsey-Moore’s remarks, stated, “With a record number of 50 Steelbands (19 Single Pan, 19 Ensemble, and 12 Orchestra) set to perform, this year's festival promises to be the most spectacular yet, showcasing the extraordinary talent and versatility of our national instrument…Through this festival, we aim not only to display the immense talent and versatility of our Steelbands but also to celebrate the universal language of love that binds us all. "Steelpan is More Beautiful" will once again revive Trinidad and Tobago's entertainment industry with enriching, patriotic-focused, family-friendly events for 2024.”
