St. James will usher in the merriest time of the year a few weeks earlier with the St. James Community Improvement Committee (CIC) as it embarks on its Christmas program.

Come Sunday November 27 and December 04, 2016, respectively, the community-based organization will be hosting two (2) events at the St. James Amphitheatre, Western Main Road, St. James. The former is with children in mind while the latter is for the general public. Both are free.

At the first event on Sunday which starts at 3:00pm, young children will be treated to snacks is as customary. There will also be inter-active gaming, balloon art and face painting.

One week later, the St. James CIC will be presenting its Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and Concert at the same venue.

The December event will feature performances by the Trinidad & Tobago Defence Force Steel Orchestra along with the ever popular traditional steelbands, St. James Tripolians and Scrunters’ Pan Groove. Sharlene Flores, Queen of Parang, and the schools’ choir will add to festive fare.

The lights will be turned at 6:00 pm. This will be followed by the Christmas Concert.

The tree will remain lit and on display at the St. James Amphitheatre & Park until January 07 2017.

These events were made possible through the initiative of the St. James (CIC) as it extends the invitation to come out enjoy the holiday melodies and entertainment.

This year’s event is in memory of the former President, Earl Crosby, who passed away in August.
